Position Summary听
The Director of Development & Alumni Engagement serves a vital role in advancing the mission of the 秋霞福利一区: For Christ & His Kingdom, multiplying kingdom leaders in every academic discipline. This position is responsible for cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, and friends of the University, inviting them to invest in the academic and spiritual formation of students.听
This role integrates donor development and alumni engagement, focusing on growing unrestricted support for The Great Commission Fund while fostering a vibrant, mission-driven alumni community.听

Primary Responsibilities听
1. Development听
Lead efforts to cultivate, solicit, and steward low-to mid-level donors with a primary focus on increasing unrestricted giving to the Great Commission Fund.听
Key Responsibilities:听
鈼 Build and manage a portfolio of 150鈥300 low- to mid-level donors and prospects
鈼 Conduct face-to-face, virtual, and phone solicitations
鈼 Clearly articulate the mission and funding priorities of the University
鈼 Develop personalized engagement and solicitation strategies for each donor
鈼 Partner with University leadership on campaigns and annual giving strategies
鈼 Steward donors through consistent follow-up, gratitude, and impact reporting
鈼 Identify and qualify donors for potential major gift pipelines听
Measurable Goals & Metrics:听
鈼 Conduct 15-20 donor visits per month (180-240 annually)
鈼 Secure $100,000鈥$250,000 annually in gifts (aligned with experience and portfolio size)
鈼 Achieve 20鈥30% donor retention rate increase within portfolio
鈼 Add 25鈥50 new Mission Partners annually to the Great Commission Fund
鈼 Increase average gift size year-over-year of donors in portfolio
鈼 Maintain accurate CRM records for 100% of donor interactions听
2. Alumni Engagement (Relationship Building & Events)听
Develop and execute strategies that connect alumni across generations to the life and mission of the University, encouraging meaningful engagement and financial partnership.听
Key Responsibilities:听
鈼 Build relationships with alumni through personal visits, calls, and digital communication
鈼 Share compelling stories of student impact, spiritual formation, and academic excellence
鈼 Plan and execute alumni events (on-campus, regional, and virtual) in coordination with IR Communications Manager
鈼 Collaborate with campus departments to increase alumni involvement
鈼 Create pathways for alumni to serve (mentorship, networking, speaking opportunities)
鈼 Partner with Marketing/Communications to deliver consistent alumni messaging
鈼 Encourage alumni participation in giving initiatives and campaigns听
Measurable Goals & Metrics:听
鈼 Conduct 4-6 alumni engagement meetings per month
鈼 Plan and execute 6-10 alumni events annually (ranging from small, medium, and large) 鈼 Fellowship events (large)
听 听 听鈼 Resourcing events (medium)
听 听 听鈼 Engagement/Partnership events (small)
鈼 Increase alumni participation rate in giving by 3鈥5% annually
鈼 Achieve event attendance goals (depending on event type and context)
鈼 Grow alumni contact database engagement (email open rates, event RSVPs, etc.)
鈼 Generate qualified donor leads from alumni interactions听
Additional Responsibilities听
鈼 Represent the University with professionalism, warmth, and conviction
鈼 Support Institutional Relations initiatives including campaigns, giving days, and special projects
鈼 Collaborate with faculty, staff, and leadership to understand and communicate institutional priorities
鈼 Travel as needed for donor meetings and alumni events
鈼 Maintain a lifestyle consistent with the mission and values of a Christ-centered institution
鈼 Participate in spiritual life opportunities and campus community engagement听
Qualifications听
鈼 Bachelor鈥檚 degree required; advanced degree preferred
鈼 3鈥5+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, relationship management, or a related field
鈼 Strong interpersonal and communication skills
鈼 Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed measurable goals
鈼 Passion for Christian higher education and alignment with the University鈥檚 mission
鈼 Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
鈼 Ability to work both independently and collaboratively听
