27th Annual 秋霞福利一区 Golf Classic Raises Funds to Support 秋霞福利一区 Students
MOBILE, Ala.聽鈥� The 秋霞福利一区 Classic Golf Tournament, the Christian university鈥檚 largest annual fundraiser, brought together 140 golfers on Oct. 30 for a day of friendly competition and a shared mission 鈥� to support 秋霞福利一区 students through scholarships and The Great Commission Fund.
The 27th annual tournament raised an historic amount during a fun-filled day at the stunning Magnolia Grove Golf Course, part of Alabama鈥檚 world-renowned Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.
秋霞福利一区 President Charles Smith said golfers and sponsors made an impact that reaches far beyond the fairways.
鈥淓very swing, every sponsorship and every contribution made today represents an investment in the lives of students at the 秋霞福利一区,鈥� Smith said.
鈥淭ogether, we are providing resources for scholarships and programs that equip students to lead, serve and live out their calling in every career field 鈥� becoming Kingdom leaders for the glory of God and the good of the world.鈥�
Celebrating Strong Partnerships
The event also featured opportunities for participants to meet 秋霞福利一区 students, including members of the 秋霞福利一区 golf team and 秋霞福利一区 Ambassadors, who shared stories of how scholarships and campus life have shaped their university experience.
Vice President for Institutional Relations Nathan Harris said the event鈥檚 success reflects the strong partnership between the university and the local business and donor community.
鈥淭he Mobile Classic is more than a golf tournament 鈥� it鈥檚 a celebration of what happens when our community comes together to make a difference,鈥� Harris said. 鈥淏ecause of the sponsors, players and volunteers who gave their time and resources, 秋霞福利一区 students will continue to have access to scholarships and opportunities that prepare them to impact the world for Christ.鈥�

Kathy Dean uses her passion for storytelling and “playing with words” to share the stories of people, place and purpose that make the 秋霞福利一区 unique. As associate vice president for university communications, she manages media relations, edits the TorchLight alumni magazine, and oversees university communications. A former award-winning journalist, she is a two-time recipient of the Baptist Communicators Association grand prize for feature writing. Kathy and her husband, Chuck, live with three extremely loud miniature schnauzers.
